Apple Releases Beta Messages App For Mac Users
This past week Apple fanatics Myself have been going crazy over the big news of Apple releasing their new operating system Mountain Lion later this summer which will integrate Apples iOS into their computers OSx, bringing over some new features such as notes and notification center. These Apps will work with iCloud syncing automatically with all your other Apple devices. This new system will bring Apple’s new Messages app to Mac, which will allow you to message anyone on any Apple device as well as use it with Aim, Jabber, Google Talk, and Yahoo Messenger (This will replace iChat on Macs). Apple has released a beta version for anyone to test on their website. If you are interested in downloading it the link will be below. Remember you will only be able to download this if your currently running Apple’s latest operating system, Lion.

my only gripe with this even though its in beta stage is me and my partner share the same itunes account over 2 iphones and 1 mac but instead of detecting the phones using our phone number it uses the email address so we got eachothers messages :/

So create another iTunes account (their free).. I don’t think 2 people are suppose to use the same account thats probably why it goes by email Apple thinks only 1 person is using each iTunes account.

I just tested Messages with another friend with an iPhone. It did sync the computer conversation with my phone and computer, but the phone was not very reliable about making the notification noise. And it sent some messages to the phone way later. Now, how long until they integrate it with Google Voice so I can talk to non-Apple people on my phone without using BeejiveIM?

@Barbara since this is just beta, a lot of features are still kinky and buggy i know that on my computer once i downloaded messages it asked me if i wanted to use google talk, have you tried talking to someone on google yet?
