Solar Flare: Charged Particles Due Midnight EST

A solar flare erupted on the sun on Tuesday with a corresponding coronal mass ejection. This time around the solar flare is stronger then other recent events, but there was a bigger one August 2011. The current solar flare sent 10 billion tons of highly charged particles racing towards the Earth at 3-4 million mph. They will not make a direct hit, merely a glancing blow. The effects may last from Thursday morning until Friday morning. If your phone starts to have technical difficulties, it isn’t necessarily something wrong with your phone, it could just be the electromagnetic side effects of the solar activity.

Here’s a short video showing the solar flare in the ultraviolet wavelengths. That’s what the numbers are on the side.

  1. Ahhh! My phone is flipping out. This is weird. It made everything really small and pushed it to the corner. I didn’t change a thing… tried restarting – you name it.
